Neuroanatomy
This week is our last week of dissection, and it’s the brain.
Our lecturer opens our first neuro lecture by saying
don’t worry guys it’s not rocket science
No, but it is brain surgery!
Some fun facts:
1. The vegus nerve (10th cranial nerve) innervates the gastro-intestinal tract as well as the external ear. My little brother used to play with his ear whenever he drank his bottle, the connection makes sense now.
2. When bungy jumping, one can rip the connection between your brain and your pituitary gland, detatching your pituitary gland completely, thereby losing its function. Your pituitary releases growth hormone. So basically, dont bungy-jump if you’re a midget and can’t handle the risk of never growing again.
